Job summary

Canfor’s Moultrie, GA sawmill seeks an accomplished Production Superintendent to lead safety, production and maintenance, reporting to the Plant Manager. You will provide strategic leadership to ensure efficient, safe operations and align with Canfor’s goals.

You will drive continuous improvement, optimize performance, manage budgets, and collaborate with department heads to advance reliability, quality, and productivity in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in industrial leadership.
• 5-10 years of experience in the lumber manufacturing industry.
• Solid understanding of optimization equipment and processes.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead change initiatives.
• Proficiency in contemporary business management tools (MS Office) and financial principles.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• A lumber grading ticket (asset).

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership in the sawmill and work closely with Plant Management to ensure efficient operations.
• Lead safety initiatives and drive production performance.
• Support operating and supervisory personnel and foster strong working relationships.
• Develop supervisory personnel and succession planning where applicable.
• Drive continuous improvement opportunities and quality control initiatives.
• Develop cost-control programs aligned with division business plans and manage area spend.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and corporate policies.

In this role, you'll be an integral member of the Plant Management team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. You will provide overall leadership in the sawmill and work closely with other department heads to ensure efficient and effective divisional operations.

• Providing direction and support for operating and supervisory personnel while fostering a highly effective working relationship with all employees

• Ensuring full compliance with applicable government regulations and corporate policies
