Job summary

SurfacePrep Amherst is seeking a hands-on Production Specialist to support daily production, warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations. You will help ensure products are prepared, tested, and shipped safely and accurately, collaborating with the Production Manager and Quality Manager.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of experience, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. Forklift certification and basic MS Word/Excel skills are required in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of applicable work experience.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and follow written instructions.
• Comfortable working safely in a fast-paced production environment.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support production activities including screening, magnetic separation, crushing, and blending.
• Test physical product characteristics such as sizing, tap density, and moisture content.
• Transfer materials between packages and prepare products for processing or shipment.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by identifying materials, recording lot numbers, palletizing, stretch wrapping, and labeling.
• Assist with shipping and receiving, including loading and unloading trucks and containers.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment (blenders, screeners, roll crushers, forklift batteries, dust collectors).
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse and production areas.
• Assist with general building maintenance as needed.
