Job description

Production Specialist (Associate Producer and Editor)

The Production Specialist will join the Creative Team to support a variety of production activities. This includes responsibility for conducting photo and video capture, managing media assets across all forms of production, and supporting the post-production process through editing, file organization, quality assurance and asset delivery. This role will also interface with third party creative partners to leverage content libraries and manage final deliverables. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in photo and video production, excellent organizational skills, and a creative eye for storytelling. This position reports to Colossal’s Head of Production.

This position is based on-site in Dallas, TX. Relocation assistance is available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic photography and video production independently in a variety of small-scale projects, including interviews, events, and field work capture.
  • Coordination of schedules, locations, and logistics for photo and video shoots.
  • Perform basic editing and post-production to support internal and external creative development, including logging, transcripting, string out assembly and related functions.
  • Facilitate quality assurance, approval, and delivery of final assets to stakeholders.
  • Manage production infrastructure, ensuring all equipment is tracked and maintained.
  • Organize, catalogue and maintain media assets from multiple projects.
  • Coordinate with IT to ensure best practice for development of infrastructure to store, backup and distribute assets.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with photo and video editing software and motion graphics tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere, Lightroom, After Effects, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of visual effect and sound design workflows.
  • Familiarity with cameras systems, lighting and audio equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film/Television Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years professional experience.
  • Experience working with third-party production teams or agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on projects with multiple contributors.
