Job summary

Piping Rock Health Products is seeking a supervisor to oversee production and distribution center operations in a lean manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse setting.

Under general supervision, you will coordinate material flow, supervise staff, monitor production output and quality, and ensure products meet delivery requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing and/or packaging experience, including leadership responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Follow SOPs, safety, GMP and quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and regulatory guidelines at all times.
  • Promote safety culture and enforce plant safety policies.
  • Direct shift activities under supervision to meet customer needs and report KPIs.
  • Communicate staffing, materials, machines, methods, and metrics with supervisor.
  • Assist in training employees on safety, quality and productivity.

Summary of Role

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for supervising production and distribution center (DC) operations in a lean manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse environment; assisting the Senior Department Supervisor, Operations in coordinating the processing of materials and/or products in the manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse facilities; supervising employees while monitoring production output and quality of products; and assuring products meet quality and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and safety awareness within their area of responsibility. Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Under the guidance of the Senior Department Supervisor, Operations, directs shift activities and processes to meet customer needs and assists with the capturing and reporting of plant KPI's.
  • Communicates with the Senior Department Supervisor, Operations regarding staffing levels, materials, machines, methods and metrics.
  • Assists with training employees in safety, quality, productivity, and operational requirements.
  • Provides clear and factual feedback to Senior Department Supervisor, Operations regarding corrective actions.
  • Leads team in ensuring continuous improvement and lean opportunities are communicated and executed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all sanitation and good housekeeping procedures and guidelines are followed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing and/or packaging experience, including leadership responsibility, required.
  • Excellent communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media – verbal, written, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to direct work force and adapt to changing schedules as appropriate.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite. SAP experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, workflow, etc.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times and in all situations.
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment and clean room attire.
  • Moderate physical activity, requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to twelve (12) hours per shift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform work onsite and be comfortable in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust.
Shift Schedule : Friday to Sunday and every other Thursday 5PM to 5AM
Wage Range: $82,000 - $98,000 annually, DOE.
