UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Production Supervisor to join our UniFirst Family. As a Supervisor in the Production Department, you will administer policy and procedures, training and development of the Production staff. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Monitor the production workflow and ensure work is operating efficiently.
  • Provide performance evaluations for staff, and regularly schedule reviews with representatives for continued development.
  • Train and develop Production team partners.
  • Review and establish schedules to ensure adequate supervisory coverage.
  • Analyze statistical data for production efficiencies and cost control.
  • Monitor and evaluate quality and accuracy of product assembly, developing training tools and methodologies to improve quality, efficiency, and safe practices.
  • Manage support tools and processes necessary to maintain inventory and accuracy of Flat Goods, Logo Mat, and special-order processes.
  • Assist Assistant Production Manager with daily reports as needed.
  • Understand progressive discipline in compliance with UniFirst Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in plant wide safety activities.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic meetings with your employees (if applicable) to include safety related issues or items.
  • Ensure that hazards are corrected or necessary changes to the safety and health management system are addressed.
  • Ensure proper PPE is available and exercised as necessary.
  • Provide a smooth transition of information and documentation to the HR department.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • High school and or GED equivalent is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Two or more years of related experience and/or training in the field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Proficient in computer software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Knowledge and background in Human Resources and employee training processes are a plus.
  • Experience with pcMRP, AS400 Systems including OPIM, AMS, DCMS, ETS, PAW, and Mozart would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, which includes the ability to effectively present information and respond to question from managers, employees, and customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with peers and subordinates.
  • Must be detailed-oriented with strong prioritization skills.
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Must possess the ability to distinguish between colors
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
