Job summary

Charter Casting in Shawano, WI is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 3rd Shift (Melt Department). You will lead and develop production staff, drive Lean initiatives, and foster a safety-first culture across the melt operations.

Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift (Melt Department)

We're looking for a motivated and people-focused Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations, develop employees, and help drive a culture of safety, trust, teamwork and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Employee Development

• Lead and develop production employees through coaching, mentoring, training, and performance management
• Foster a culture built on safety, accountability, teamwork, and respect
• Conduct performance evaluations and support employee growth initiatives
• Communicate expectations clearly and provide timely feedback and recognition
• Promote employee engagement and support a positive work environment

Operations & Production

• Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met
• Drive productivity, quality, and waste reduction initiatives
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality, engineering, and other departments to support operational success
• Monitor workflow, staffing, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency
• Address production challenges and implement effective solutions

Continuous Improvement & Safety

• Support and participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity
• Support Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management System requirements

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of manufacturing, industrial, foundry, metal processing, or related production experience
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong ability to prioritize, delegate, and follow up on multiple responsibilities
• Proven coaching, employee development, and team-building skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to collaborate across departments and shifts
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and urgency
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Engineering Technology, or a related field
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working within Lean Manufacturing environments
• Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or related certification
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
