Job summary

Manner Polymers in Mount Vernon, IL is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Shift Manager to lead our 7:00 PM–7:00 AM team Monday to Thursday. You will supervise production operators, coach, and drive daily targets while upholding safety and quality.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of manufacturing leadership, strong knowledge of operations and equipment, and a track record of solving problems with data. Local candidates preferred; relocation not provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of production operations, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage conflict, and uphold high performance standards.
• Willingness to work outside regular hours when business needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of production operators during the 2nd shift to meet daily production targets.
• Deliver coaching, performance evaluations, and growth opportunities to your team.
• Track and analyze key performance metrics to guide improvement initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
• Champion workplace safety through regular meetings, compliance checks, and example-setting.
• Promote collaboration, resolve conflicts, and foster team cohesion.
• Communicate equipment needs and address product quality concerns proactively.
• Reduce downtime and material waste while adhering to production schedules.
• Partner with HR to address and document employee performance and conduct issues.
• Ensure all employees wear proper PPE and follow safety protocols consistently.

We’re looking for a Shift Manager to lead our 2nd Shift team (7:00 PM—7:00 AM Monday - Thursday) at our Mount Vernon, IL facility.

Key Responsibilitiesa:

• Lead and supervise a team of production operators during the 2nd shift to meet daily production targets.
• Deliver coaching, performance evaluations, and growth opportunities to your team.
• Track and analyze key performance metrics (efficiency, cost, quality) to guide improvement initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
