Job summary

Alkegen is seeking a Production Supervisor I to oversee afternoon shift operations at the Council Grove, Kansas facility. The role emphasizes team leadership, safety, and efficiency to meet production targets and quality standards.

The candidate will manage ~10 operators, coordinate with maintenance, and ensure proper end-of-shift security and handover. Relevant supervisory experience and lean manufacturing exposure are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a supervisory/management role within manufacturing.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading teams and driving performance improvements.
• Lean manufacturing experience and problem solving.
• Proficient IT skills, especially MS Office.
• First Aider certification or willing to obtain.
• FLT license or willingness to train.
• Fire Warden certification or willingness to train.
• ILM Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• IOSH Managing Safely and ISO9001 exposure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all shift manufacturing activities to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Monitor workflow and implement improvements to boost productivity and reduce downtime.
• Prepare detailed shift reports, including metrics, incidents and challenges.
• Ensure end-of-shift security and proper handover to the incoming shift.
• Lead, coach, and develop the shift team; manage attendance and performance.
• Coordinate with maintenance for equipment reliability and uptime.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and supplies for continuous production.
• Foster safety culture and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Promote continuous improvement and active employee engagement.
