Job Summary

The Production Services Technician is responsible for the daily setup and breakdown of manufacturing stations, ensuring smooth production workflows. This role supports the manufacturing team in achieving daily targets and maintaining quality standards. The technician collaborates closely with the Manufacturing & Logistics Supervisor to understand job specifications, special requirements, and deadlines. Additional responsibilities include assisting with quality checks, completing quality and productivity documentation, and reporting daily results. Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes are essential for success in this position. This is a highly flexible position and will be counted on to assist in other areas of manufacturing as directed by the Manufacturing & Logistics Supervisor.

  • Set up and break down all manufacturing stations daily.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Supervisor with quality checks and complete quality and productivity documents.
  • Document and report daily work results to the Manufacturing & Logistics Supervisor.
  • Work with the Manufacturing & Logistics Supervisor to understand job specifications, special requirements, and due dates.
  • Serve as a helper to support manufacturing employees with work assignments.
  • Monitor manufacturing stations to replenish supplies as needed.
  • Act as point person for maintaining in-place quality processes and documenting outcomes and variations, adhering to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Provide Quality Assurance for ongoing projects in stations for accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to procedures, regulations, and guidelines including AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards, while minimizing errors and safety risks.
  • Participate in safety training and ensure compliance with OSHA and AS9100/ISO 9001 safety standards.
  • Work with the Manufacturing & Logistics Supervisor to complete time study requirements as needed.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation.
  • Immediately report any production-related issues to the Manufacturing & Logistics Supervisor.
  • Be responsible for proper counting and documenting all non-inventoried materials received by BAC for “In Center” contracts/projects.
  • Support skill development and job coaching for employees with disabilities as part of manufacturing tasks.
  • Track and report on quality and productivity metrics (e.g., defect rates, setup efficiency) to the Manufacturing & Logistics Supervisor.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned including picking orders and preparing to ship in the warehouse as needed, and picking up materials from BAC headquarters that need to ship.
  • Pick up and deliver materials to and from customers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) or more years of related experience in manufacturing or production.
  • Basic proficiency with cable manufacturing tools (e.g., crimpers, soldering equipment) and ability to read technical drawings or specifications.
  • A combination of education and experience may suffice for the above requirements.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must satisfy Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements.
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience regarding a Quality Management program.
  • Experience working around adults with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges preferred.

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions to perform this job successfully.

  • Position requires knowledge of workflows in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of departmental and organization policies, applicable laws, procedures, and processes.
  • Knowledge of specialized quality control.
  • Knowledge of cable manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and compliance training in manufacturing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, departmental management, and other BAC employees.
  • Experience in computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and cable manufacturing software (continuity testing, pin testing, etc.).
  • The ability to be trained in specialized software related to departmental operations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and common-sense skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate others.
  • Good communication skills - both written and verbal in English.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow.
  • Must possess a flexible approach to change, and a positive team spirit.
  • Detail-oriented in the execution and follow-up of work.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be able to work under low supervision.

This position requires local travel within the workday. No overnight travel is expected.

Physical Requirements

Tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 40 pounds). Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The above tasks can be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodation.

Environmental Requirements

Tasks are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., heat, dirt, cold, rain, fumes), in a production/manufacturing and warehouse setting.

Sensory Requirements

Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.
