Job summary

IPEX, a leading North American plastics piping systems provider, seeks a Production Scheduler at our Pineville, NC Plant. You will develop and maintain a one-week production schedule, collaborating across logistics, customer service, sales, and plant operations to maximize machine utilization and on-time delivery.

Analyze demand forecasts and coordinate inventory counts while maintaining optimal raw material and WIP levels. Proficiency in MRP/CRP and Excel is essential for planning and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bsc Degree in a related field.
• Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
• Familiarity with product lines, including part numbers and descriptions.
• Understanding of cost accounting, bills of material, and routing concepts.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Generates a master schedule clearly defining what product to make, how many to make, and expected completion date.
• Maintains knowledge of jobs in progress to respond to inquiries and potential delivery concerns.
• Updates daily and weekly production schedules to reflect current activities.
• Acts as liaison between logistics, customer service, sales, and the plant.
• Initiates stock transfers to support the production schedule and minimizes transportation costs.
• Coordinate and participate in weekly/monthly/annual inventory counts to ensure accurate raw material and WIP inventory.
• Maintain inventory levels through scheduling and planning aligned with logistics targets and budgets.
• Analyze demand forecasts and assess capacity to address short- and long-term challenges.
• Use planning tools such as MRP/CRP to balance service levels with capacity and inventory goals.
• Track and report inventory and production levels to support decision-making.
• Facilitate cross-departmental communication to resolve scheduling conflicts and priorities.

Job Summary

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining a one-week production schedule that aligns with operational readiness and customer demand. This role ensures efficient production flow by collaborating with key departments and leveraging MES data to make real-time schedule adjustments. The primary objective is to maximize machine utilization and ensure product availability for on-time delivery.

Principal Responsibilities

• - Generates a master schedule which clearly defines:
  a. What product to make
  b. How many to make
  c. Expected completion date
• - Maintain constant working knowledge of the jobs in progress, which will provide the ability to respond immediately to inquiries & react proactively to potential delivery concerns.
• - Updates daily & weekly production schedules to reflect current activities.
• - Acts as primary liaison between logistics, customer service, sales personnel & the plant.
• - Initiates stock transfers for materials required to support the production schedule, for standard production items.
• - Consolidate transfers to minimize the cost of transportation.
• - Co-ordinate & participate in weekly/monthly/annual inventory counts to ensure accurate raw material & WIP
  Inventory.
• - Maintain inventory levels through production scheduling & control. Inventory levels are pre-determined & are defined by the logistics department, the financial budget & ongoing sales trends.

• - Monitor jobs in progress to provide timely updates and proactively address potential delivery concerns.
• - Update daily and weekly production schedules to reflect current activities and priorities.
• - Serve as a key point of contact between logistics, customer service, sales, and plant operations to ensure alignment and timely communication.
• - Initiate and optimize stock transfers for production materials, consolidating shipments to reduce transportation costs.
• - Coordinate and participate in inventory counts (weekly, monthly, annual) to ensure accuracy of raw materials and work-in-progress (WIP).
• - Maintain inventory levels through effective scheduling, aligned with logistics targets, financial budgets, and sales trends.
• - Analyze demand forecasts to support production planning and inventory control.
• - Assess plant capacity and resource requirements, recommending solutions to address short- and long-term challenges.
• - Use planning tools such as MRP/CRP to develop production plans that balance service levels, plant capacity, and inventory goals.
• - Track and report on inventory and production levels to support decision-making.
• - Facilitate cross-departmental communication to resolve scheduling conflicts and competing priorities.
• - Complete administrative tasks related to production scheduling and planning.
• - Support other functions as needed, based on team priorities and supervisor guidance.
• - Analyze plant capacities & requirements, recommend solutions to resolve short- & long-term capacity issues.
• - Using MRP/CRP & other tools, prepare production plans aimed at balancing service requirements with plant requirements & target inventory levels.
• - Track inventory & production levels.
• - Facilitate communication between various departments in resolving conflicting demands.
• - Performs necessary administrative functions related to the position.
• - May be required to function in other capacities as directed by supervisor.
