Salary Range: $28.00 To $34.00 Annually

Production Scheduler

Reports to:VP of Operations

Classification:Non-exempt, hourly

Summary

The Production Scheduler owns the flow of work through Tecnadyne's operations, from incoming parts and inspection through the machine shop, assembly, test, and shipping. This role builds and maintains the production schedule, keeps every job up-to-date in our project tracking system, and follows up with each department to make sure commitments are met. When a date is at risk, the Scheduler raises it early and drives the conversation to a solution.

We are looking for an organized, persistent communicator who is comfortable holding people accountable to the dates they commit to. This role is a great fit for an experienced expediter, materials coordinator, or scheduler who wants to own the production schedule in a small, high-mix manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production scheduling and planning

  • Builds and maintains the production schedule across the machine shop, assembly, test, inspection, and shipping, based on customer due dates, capacity, and material availability.
  • Owns job tracking in ClickUp, keeping status, dates, and next steps current for every open job.
  • Identifies capacity constraints and scheduling conflicts, and recommends options to leadership.
  • Coordinates schedule changes when priorities shift, and communicates the impact to affected departments.

Cross-department coordination and follow-up

  • Manages handoffs between departments, such as from inspection to production or from the machine shop to assembly, so work does not stall between steps.
  • Follows up daily with department leads on open commitments, and escalates when dates are at risk.
  • Leads or supports regular production meetings: reviews job status, captures action items and owners, and follows up until each item is closed.
  • Holds people and departments accountable to agreed dates in a professional, direct way.
  • Partners with Supply Chain to confirm material and purchased-part availability before jobs are released.
  • Requests expedites from Supply Chain for critical parts and materials when needed to protect delivery dates.
  • Flags shortages, late suppliers, and other risks early.

Reporting and continuous improvement

  • Reports on schedule performance, such as on-time delivery, past-due jobs, and backlog.
  • Identifies recurring delays and bottlenecks, and helps improve planning and handoff processes.
  • Supports the implementation of scheduling tools and ERP/MRP processes as Tecnadyne grows.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in production scheduling, planning, expediting, or materials coordination in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage many jobs and priorities at once.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication, with the confidence to follow up and hold others accountable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project tracking tools.
  • Ability to read work orders, bills of materials, and basic technical documents.
  • Strong follow-through and a sense of ownership for results.

Preferred

  • Experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment, such as machining, electro-mechanical assembly, marine, or aerospace.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience with ClickUp or similar project management tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stands and walks throughout the facility, including the production floor, machine shop, and warehouse.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 50 pounds.
  • Bends, stoops, and reaches to locate and move parts and materials.
  • May occasionally drive a company vehicle for local pickups or deliveries. A valid California driver's license and the ability to meet the company's vehicle insurance requirements are required for this duty.
  • Reasonable accommodation is available.

At Tecnadyne, we invest in our people. Our benefits include:
