Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Salt Lake City is seeking a Production Coordinator to assist in planning production schedules and to maximize capacity to meet customer delivery requirements.

The role interfaces with sales, purchasing, and manufacturing, releases orders and materials, reviews WIP, and prepares daily run packets to support smooth, on-time manufacturing. Strong math, Excel, and Word skills are essential, as is attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning production schedules to meet delivery requirements.
• Review sales orders against current requirements and WIP using the MRP report.
• Release purchase orders for production material and floor stock.
• Interface with manufacturing, purchasing, and supervisors on material status.
• Create job packets and daily run lists for the assigned line.
• Verify coil availability before issuing job packets to line leads.
• Communicate with sales and line teams on order details and issues.
• Interpret customer drawings and program appropriate punches (Zee Line).

Job Description

SCOPE OF ROLE

The Production Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning of production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Acts on order releases action and exception messages from the company system
• Answer revision and cancellation requests from sales
• Receives and reviews sales orders against current requirements and work in process using the material requirement planning report
• Releases purchase orders for production material, floor stock items and all purchases to support the business unit
• Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and supervisors on material status and production planning issues
• Create job packet and run list for the daily runs for the assigned line
• Verify coil availability for daily runs prior to giving job packet to line lead
• Communicate with sales teams regarding any issues with orders, details, etc.
• Communicate daily with team leaders of the assigned line concerning machine issues, changes to plan, etc.
• Interpret customer drawings and program appropriate punches (Zee Line).
• Must have a solid understanding of basic math skills to calculate design specifications
• Needs to have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office application in Word and Excel
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential for success in this role

This is a position with the potential of overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.

The targeted hourly rate is $25-$28.50
