Production Scheduler

Full Time Indirect KNOX1, Knoxville, TN, US

POSITION SUMMARY

Support the Master Production Scheduler in developing and maintaining efficient production plans for new equipment sites. Assist with capacity planning, scheduling, and forecasting activities to ensure resources are aligned with customer demand and production goals. Work closely with Sales and Operations to update schedules, resolve conflicts, and ensure the delivery of products in time.

This position reports directly to the Master Production Scheduler and indirectly to the Director of Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining annual capacity planning budgets.
  • Collaborate with functional teams including Sales, Logistics, and Manufacturing to maintain accurate scheduling data and dependencies.
  • Develop and manage daily/weekly production schedules based on customer requirements, capacity, and material availability.
  • Create, print, and issue production packet paperwork (travelers, prints, etc) to the production floor.
  • Track and manage all open work orders on the shop floor to ensure they are completed on schedule.
  • Process and analyze daily production confirmations to ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Attend weekly production meetings to communicate scheduling priorities and discuss potential shortages.
  • Liaise with procurement to expedite materials in support of the production schedule.
  • Assist with generating and publishing regular scheduling reports and related performance metrics.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance planning and scheduling efficiency.
  • Maintain and adjust the master distribution schedule as directed; promptly communicate any scheduling changes or production delays.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure proper shop floor scheduling control parameters within SAP/Syteline.
  • Participate in production and planning meetings as needed to align schedules with business priorities.
  • Adhere to IATF 16949 guidelines, company safety policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and process documentation efforts.
  • Assist with monthly and yearly safety inspections as directed.
  • All other duties assigned.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Syteline or SAP preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing demands.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in relevant field (ie. Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics)
  • 1-3 years of related experience in production scheduling, materials planning, or a similar manufacturing operations role.
  • Experience with ERP or planning tools.
  • Strong data analysis skills and comfort working with planning reports.
