Job summary

Greif is seeking a Production Scheduler for its Carol Stream facility, onsite Monday-Friday, to develop schedules, manage material availability, and balance customer demand with inventory levels.

The role collaborates with Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, Inventory Control, and Supply Chain teams to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Experience in production scheduling, planning, supply chain, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory management processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and production planning tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer demand and operational goals.
  • Balance production requirements with labor, equipment capacity, material availability, and inventory levels.
  • Adjust schedules as needed to address changing customer priorities, supply chain challenges, and production constraints.
  • Monitor production capacity and identify bottlenecks that could impact efficiency or on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate material availability and purchasing activities to support production requirements.
  • Monitor raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory levels to maintain operational readiness.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve material shortages and delivery issues.
  • Support customer delivery commitments through effective planning and proactive communication of risks.
  • Track schedule attainment, inventory performance, and other key metrics to support operational decision-making.
  • Participate in production planning meetings and collaborate across Operations, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, and Customer Service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, inventory management, and overall operational efficiency.

Education

Job Description

We are seeking a Production Scheduler to support manufacturing operations at our Carol Stream facility onsite Monday-Friday. This role is responsible for developing production schedules, coordinating material availability, managing inventory needs, and partnering across departments to ensure customer orders are produced and delivered on time.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can shift quickly. This position plays a critical role in balancing customer demand, production capacity, and inventory levels to support operational success.

What You’ll Do

As Production Scheduler, you will coordinate production plans and material requirements to ensure efficient operations and reliable customer delivery performance. You will work closely with Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, Inventory Control, and Supply Chain teams to align resources and priorities.

What We’re Looking For

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $68,600.00 - $116,800.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between70,000.00 to80,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
