Job summary

Wells is seeking a Production Scheduler to develop and maintain production schedules for a precast manufacturing facility. You’ll coordinate with engineering, supply, and production teams to align demand with plant capacity.

This role requires strong planning, attention to detail, and ability to adapt schedules as priorities shift. You’ll report to the operations leadership and contribute to on-time delivery and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have strong planning abilities and attention to detail.
• Experience in production planning or scheduling in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and plans.

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to support efficient operations and meet customer demand within a precast manufacturing facility. This role coordinates with multiple departments to align production, engineering, and supply needs. Success requires strong planning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt schedules based on changing priorities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Develop and manage production schedules based on order demand, forecasts, and inventory needs.
• Prepare and distribute weekly schedules to production teams, outlining priorities and quantities.
• Lead scheduling meetings to review and finalize plans with plant leadership and engineering.
• Monitor production systems to ensure engineering deliverables stay ahead of manufacturing timelines.
• Analyze production outputs and adjust schedules to improve efficiency and meet service goals.
• Submit and track hardware requisitions while maintaining accurate records.
• Address scheduling conflicts or production delays and communicate solutions to impacted teams.
• Maintain organized project files by job and timeline for tracking purposes.
• Support additional scheduling and coordination tasks as assigned by leadership.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is an organized and analytical professional with experience in production planning or scheduling. They are detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual is a strong communicator who can coordinate across teams and adapt quickly to changing production needs.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

• Associate degree in business, construction management, or engineering technology preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong ability to plan, schedule, and allocate resources effectively.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
• Ability to lead meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Bluebeam.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
• Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
• Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
• May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
• May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
