The role requires ability to work in wet environments, stand for extended periods, and lift 40–50 pounds as needed, while maintaining audit-ready records and strict hygiene standards.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm to 11:30pmPosition SummaryThe cGMP Sanitation Specialist is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing manufacturing and production equipment, filling equipment, production areas, workstations, and associated utensils used in the manufacture and packaging of cosmetic, cream, oil-based, and other personal care products.This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, controlled, and compliant manufacturing environment and ensuring equipment and production areas are properly prepared for the next manufacturing operation. The Sanitation Specialist follows established cGMP requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety procedures, and sanitation protocols to prevent cross-contamination, product residue buildup, and other conditions that could impact product quality or manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesClean and sanitize manufacturing and production equipment used to manufacture products containing oils, creams, lotions, cosmetics, and other personal care formulations.Clean and sanitize equipment used for filling, dispensing, and packaging finished products into containers.Perform routine, deep, and changeover cleaning of production equipment according to approved SOPs and established sanitation procedures.Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble equipment and components as required to ensure thorough removal of product residue.Clean mixers, tanks, vessels, pumps, hoses, transfer lines, filling equipment, utensils, tools, and other production equipment as assigned.Remove oil, cream, lotion, cosmetic, and other product residues from equipment and surrounding production areas using approved cleaning methods and materials.Clean and sanitize production rooms, floors, walls, surfaces, workstations, tables, equipment exteriors, and other areas surrounding manufacturing operations.Maintain cleanliness of production areas before, during, and after manufacturing activities.Follow approved procedures for cleaning equipment between product batches, product changes, and manufacturing campaigns to help prevent cross-contamination.Prepare and use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals according to approved procedures, including proper dilution, labeling, handling, storage, and disposal.Verify that cleaning equipment and supplies are appropriate for the task and are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.Inspect equipment and production areas following cleaning to ensure they meet established cleanliness standards before being released for use.Accurately complete sanitation records, cleaning logs, checklists, equipment cleaning records, and other required documentation.Document cleaning activities in accordance with cGMP documentation practices, including completion of records at the time work is performed.Report equipment damage, leaks, residue buildup, maintenance concerns, or other conditions that could affect sanitation or production operations.Communicate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance personnel regarding equipment cleaning status and any issues identified during sanitation activities.Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of product waste, contaminated materials, cleaning solutions, and other waste generated during sanitation activities.Maintain proper personal hygiene and comply with gowning, PPE, and other personnel requirements for manufacturing areas.Support contamination-control and hygiene programs within manufacturing and production areas.Maintain work areas in an audit-ready condition and participate in internal inspections, customer audits, and regulatory inspections as required.Perform other sanitation and production-support duties as assigned.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous experience cleaning manufacturing or filling equipment is highly desirable.Ability to accurately complete written and electronic documentation.Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent sanitation standards.Ability to work effectively as part of a production team while also completing assigned tasks independently.Basic understanding of cGMP requirements and sanitation practices.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a work shiftAbility to frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive movements.Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing approximately 40–50 pounds, as required.Ability to work in wet environments and around water, cleaning solutions, and sanitation chemicals.Ability to wear required PPE, which may include gloves, safety glasses or goggles, protective clothing, footwear, face protection, and respirators when required.Ability to safely perform cleaning activities around operating and non-operating manufacturing equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.
