Job summary

CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a Mechanical Designer in the DFW area to develop detailed mechanical designs, assemblies, and production documentation. The role focuses on turning concepts into accurate 3D models and manufacturing-ready drawings using SolidWorks.

The ideal candidate will have strong SolidWorks experience, an understanding of manufacturability, and the ability to produce clear documentation with minimal rework in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D mechanical models, components, and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Translate sketches and design requirements into production-ready designs.
• Develop complete assemblies supporting fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and supporting documentation.
• Apply dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements to drawings.
• Use GD&T to communicate design intent and critical dimensions.
• Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing to refine concepts for manufacturability.
• Maintain CAD data, revisions, and documentation in control systems.
• Participate in design reviews and support prototype builds and production releases.
