Job summary

Black Diamond Equipment is seeking a Production Quality Engineer I in Salt Lake City to ensure product quality across climbing and skiing gear. You will assist in testing, data analysis, and fixture development for ongoing NPI and production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials Science or similar).
• Zero to three years engineering experience; internships or coursework in fundamentals.
• Knowledge of strength of materials, statistics and data acquisition.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures.
• Experience with data collection, analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests and inspections on raw materials, WIP and final batches.
• Document design requirements from the design teams during NPI.
• Assist in creating and executing the quality plan.
• Gather test data and prepare written reports on results.
• Develop and maintain software/hardware for data acquisition.
• Fabricate and maintain test fixtures and inspection machinery.
• Maintain records of test, design and inspection documentation.
• Assist in maintaining the quality lab and equipment.
• Provide timely feedback from field tests to design teams.
