Job description

Northrop Grumman is looking for a Production Project Manager 4 in the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector. This is an individual‑contributor, non‑manager role with no direct reports, based in Northridge, CA. The primary objective of the role is to execute multiple projects to achieve performance goals in support of the AARGM/AARGM‑ER portfolio. The candidate will support the Sr. Program Manager and serve as the liaison between program management, integrated product teams, and supporting functions.

Relocation assistance may be available. The position requires a Secret clearance and will involve 25% travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing schedules, preparing status reports, coordinating cross‑functional engagement, assessing project risks, and developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer‑satisfaction objectives.
  • Manages all phases of program and project execution.
  • Manages schedule for development, production, and product upgrades.
  • Preparing status reports and communicating status of projects to management.
  • Supports and sometimes leads the identification of risks and mitigation activities to meet expected results.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with program managers and customers.
  • Establishes prioritization across AARG-ER portfolio that aligns with business objectives.
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives.
  • Manages proposal activities.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience in project management or operations. 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years leading complex, multi‑disciplinary production projects from concept through full‑rate production.
  • Experience with PMI‑style project management (schedule, cost, risk, Earned Value Management).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with risk, issues, opportunities, and mitigation plans.
  • Certified CAM/EACs experience.
  • Strong experience with PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to meet objectives with little guidance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of creating and executing work in accordance with an integrated master schedule (IMS).
  • Knowledge of project management principles and experience utilizing them professionally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.

Primary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 – $176,300.00.

Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results.
