Badass Patches is building a new production and testing facility in Raleigh, NC, and is hiring a Production & Product Development Specialist to grow a hands-on manufacturing operation. You will learn our customers and product line alongside the owners, Marketing Director, and Operations Director.

You will get trained on our equipment and start turning ideas into physical products we can promote, sell, and test in the market.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or making physical products with your hands.
• Genuine excitement about learning new equipment and turning a design into something real.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced hands-on environment with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Design or modify designs for production.
• Operate laser cutter and heat press; train on new equipment.
• Turn designs into sellable products from sample to production run.
• Test new products and capture learnings to improve them.
• Maintain quality as production volume grows.
• Set up workflows and organize the production space as it expands.
• Pack and ship finished products in-house.
• Support customer communication, order updates, and issue resolution.
• Assist with order details, proofs, and approvals during busy periods.

We are building out our new production and testing facility in Raleigh NC, and we are hiring a Production & Product Development Specialist to help us build it into a larger manufacturing operation. This is a hands on maker role. You will learn our customers and our product line alongside the owners, Marketing Director, and Operations Director. You will get trained on our equipment and start turning ideas into physical products we can promote, sell, and test in the market.

This role is built to grow. Someone who does well here can quickly grow into managing the production facility and eventually running it as its own business unit, so prior experience leading a team or a shift is a plus even though it is not required on day one.

What You'll Do

Production and Product Development

• Design or manipulate completed designs for production
• Learn to operate our production equipment, which currently includes a laser cutter and heat press equipment
• Get trained on new equipment as we add it, including various printers and embroidery machines.
• Work directly with the leadership team to learn our customers and what they need
• Take a design and turn it into a real, sellable product, from first sample through production run
• Help test new products in the market and bring back what you learn to improve them
• Keep quality consistent as production volume grows
• Help set up workflows and organize the production space as it grows
• Pack and ship the products you build in house once they are finished

Customer Service and Order Management

• Support customer communication as needed, including email, order updates, and issue resolution
• Assist with order details, proofs, and approvals during busy periods

(This role will evolve as we grow. Priorities may shift and responsibilities could expand over time, with performance leading to increased compensation and growth into a leadership role.)

What We're Looking For

• Experience designing or making physical products, ideally with your hands, whether that is through a trade, a craft, a small business, a hobby, or prior production work with experience working on Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
• Genuine excitement about learning new equipment and turning a design into something real
• Comfortable working in a hands on, fast paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and reliability in execution
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt as needs change
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time

You do not need experience on every machine we use. We will train you. What matters most is that you are a maker at heart and want to build a production operation with us.

Bonus Experience (Not Required)

• Experience with a laser cutter, various printers, heat press, or embroidery machine
• Some experience leading a team, a shift, or a small operation
• Background in operations, fulfillment, warehouse, or ecommerce
• Familiarity with Hubspot, Shopify, ShipStation, HubSpot, Missive, or similar tools
• Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
• Background in military, tactical, or first responder communities

Location and Schedule

• On site in Raleigh, NC based on business needs
• Travel for trade shows and development
• 20 hours initially during training, growing to 40 hours per week

Compensation and Benefits

• $20 to $25 per hour based on experience
