Job summary

FDH Aero in the United States is seeking a Production Planning Technician to provide quotations and lead-time estimates. Qualifications

  • Determine special length or put-up requirements, requested quantities, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with procurement and product teams to obtain cost and availability for raw materials and special requirements.
  • Accurately estimate the manufacturing time required for cable production.
  • Prepare a detailed quotation, listing exceptions clearly.
  • Coordinate with sales to ensure all special requirements are addressed during costing.
  • Develop and update Shop Router instructions with BOMs, procedures, special instructions, and run times.

We Are Looking For

The Production Planning Technician provides quotations and lead‑time estimates. The role is responsible to Prepare Shop Routers to guide cable production and assist procurement in identifying necessary bill of materials for each build. They will maintain regular communication with relevant departments to ensure costing and lead‑time accuracy, profitability, and exceptional product quality.

What You’ll Do

As a Production Planning Technician, you will:

  • Evaluate and assess each opportunity for capability, feasibility, and risk using firsthand knowledge, documentation, and management insight.
  • Verify governing specifications, ensuring the most current drawings or specifications are obtained.
  • Identify all project requirements, including quality notes, testing, approvals, and first article requirements.
  • Determine special length or put‑up requirements, requested quantities, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with procurement and product teams to obtain current cost and availability for raw materials and special requirements (e.g., testing, first articles, special links, qualification approvals).
  • Accurately estimate the manufacturing time required for cable production.
  • Prepare a detailed quotation, clearly identifying and listing any exceptions that need to be noted.
  • Confirm contract review or coordinate with sales (for intercompany distribution) to ensure all special requirements were addressed during the costing phase.
  • Develop and update work instructions (Shop Router packet) with comprehensive build instructions, including:
    • Bill of Materials by department
    • Processing & Procedures
    • Special instructions
    • Estimated run times
    • Drawings/Specifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate's Degree preferred

Special Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
  • ITAR Requirement
  • 120.15. Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements.
