Job summary

MiTek (Edenton, NC) is seeking a production planning support specialist to assist with coordinating customer orders, monitoring progress, and maintaining accurate records in production systems.

The role includes updating schedules, using ERP for lead times, supporting inventory tasks, and communicating status with manufacturing, logistics and customer service. A High School/GED is required, with 1–2 years in manufacturing preferred.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Associates related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.
• 1-2 Years of experience in a manufacturing or production control environment required.
• Basic understanding of ERP systems or willingness to learn required.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills required.
• Able to use Microsoft Office Applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with updating and maintaining the production schedule under supervision.
• Monitor sales orders and provide basic lead-time information using the ERP system.
• Support the preparation of production schedules based on existing orders and customer priorities.
• Participate in routine inventory tasks such as cycle counts.
• Communicate order status and basic scheduling details with internal departments (e.g., manufacturing, customer service, logistics).
• Help track inventory levels and incoming materials under guidance from senior staff.
• Enter and review data to ensure order and inventory accuracy.
• Perform basic analysis related to production timing and capacity under direction.
