Job summary

MaxIT Consulting – Max Corporate Group in Boonton, New Jersey is seeking a Senior Production Planning Manager to oversee scheduling, materials planning and inventory control across multiple locations. Qualifications

• 5+ years in production planning, materials planning, inventory control or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.

• Inventory management across raw materials, WIP and finished goods, including cycle counting and accuracy.
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reporting) and strong analytical skills.
• At least one certification such as APICS CPIM, CSCP or CLTD.

MaxIT Consulting – Max Corporate Group is seeking a Production Planning Manager for a manufacturing company in Boonton, New Jersey.

You will oversee production planning and scheduling, materials planning, inventory control and material availability, aligning customer demand with manufacturing capacity across multiple locations.

THE CHALLENGE

In a fast-paced manufacturing environment, customer requirements, capacity, material availability and inventory levels must be balanced every day. The company needs a planning leader who can build accurate production plans, keep the right materials available at the right time and optimize work-in-process and finished goods inventory.

You will coordinate closely with Production, Customer Service and Inventory, lead planning meetings and drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy, inventory levels and supply chain performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, maintain and execute production plans and schedules that meet customer requirements and manufacturing objectives.
• Forecast production and material requirements based on demand, history, inventory levels and capacity.
• Plan and control raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods inventory against established targets.
• Coordinate cycle counts and physical inventories, analyze discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate planning parameters, bills of materials, routings and manufacturing orders in the ERP/MRP system.
• Coordinate production planning across multiple plants and locations.
• Lead production planning and scheduling meetings, and anticipate delays, capacity constraints and material shortages.
• Build planning reports and KPIs, including quarterly Hyperion reporting.
• Coach and guide team members in planning and inventory activities, and ensure compliance with ISO requirements and internal controls.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years in production planning, materials planning, inventory control or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on ERP/MRP experience supporting planning and inventory management.
• Experience with production scheduling and capacity planning against demand and material availability.
• Inventory management experience across raw materials, WIP and finished goods, including cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reporting) and strong analytical skills.
• At least one relevant certification, such as APICS CPIM, CSCP or CLTD.
• Ability to work on‑site in Boonton, New Jersey, with a realistic commuting plan.

NICE TO HAVE

• JD Edwards experience; comparable ERP experience such as SAP or NetSuite is also considered.
• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Multi‑site planning, S&OP and inventory optimization experience.
• Hyperion reporting, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt.
• Experience in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
