Job summary

International Motors, LLC is seeking a Senior Production Planner to develop and execute master production schedules aligned with customer demand and factory capacity. You will partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing Operations to ensure timely material readiness and smooth production flow across multiple lines.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, with a focus on continuous improvement and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Experience with production planning in a manufacturing environment is required by some role paths.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with ERP/MRP systems are essential.

Job description

Position Overview

The Senior Production Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing production plans that support customer demand, manufacturing capacity, material availability, and business objectives. This role serves as a key link between Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing Operations to ensure the efficient flow of materials and timely completion of production schedules.

The ideal candidate is a strategic planner with strong analytical skills, experience in complex manufacturing environments, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to improve delivery performance, inventory management, and operational efficiency.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain master production schedules to support customer demand and business requirements.
  • Analyze customer orders, forecasts, capacity constraints, and material availability to create executable production plans.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address changes in demand, material shortages, engineering changes, or manufacturing constraints.
  • Coordinate line setting and production sequencing to optimize throughput and resource utilization.
  • Establish build priorities and communicate schedule changes to stakeholders.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Materials teams to ensure material readiness and availability for production.
  • Review shortages, supplier constraints, and inventory levels to minimize production disruptions.
  • Evaluate capacity requirements and recommend adjustments to labor, equipment, and production resources.
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives while maintaining service and delivery requirements.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Program Management teams to resolve production challenges.
  • Lead planning reviews and production readiness discussions for new programs, product launches, and engineering changes.
  • Support resolution of scheduling conflicts, material issues, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Provide planning support for special projects, customer escalations, and business-critical initiatives.
  • Track and report key performance indicators including schedule attainment, on-time delivery, inventory levels, backlog, and capacity utilization.
  • Analyze production trends and develop recommendations to improve efficiency and service performance.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to communicate planning performance and risks to management.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to maintain planning accuracy and data integrity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production planning processes, systems, and workflows.
  • Support implementation of lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop standard work and planning best practices to improve consistency and execution.
  • Participate in audits, process reviews, and business transformation projects.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of production control/planning and/or customer service experience

OR

  • Master's degree and no experience

OR

  • At least 3 years of production control/planning and/or customer service experience

  • MRP/ERP Systems Expertise
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for order execution.
  • Translate customer demand and sales forecasts into executable production plans.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and planning tools to evaluate production performance, and schedule attainment.
  • Investigate production disruptions and schedule variances to implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate effectively with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics, Quality, and Customer Service teams.
  • Experience applying process improvement methodologies to drive efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to analyze demand forecasts and develop effective production plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple functional areas.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
