Summary: The Production Planner performs duties to ensure the efficient flow of products throughout the supply chain in order to meet promised delivery dates. Accurate planning of capacity, production, and inventory management to fulfill demand is critical to the success and goals of the Mizkan organization.

Essential Duties and responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review demand from sales orders, transfer requests and sale forecasts to determine necessary production quantities and generate effective and cost effective production schedules.
  • Monitor, maintain and control inventory levels
  • Consult with production personnel and demand planning to determine production capacity and develop production manning strategies
  • Work with customer service to communicate accurate and attainable service expectations.
  • Expedite orders through production as needed to meet scheduled delivery using planning tools.
  • Work with plant facilities to ensure containers, other packaging materials and materials needed to meet production schedule are available.
  • Manage new customer demand and customer demand shifts through the product lifecycle.
  • Monitor interplant items and 3PL warehouses and place orders for incoming inventory from other Mizkan facilities.
  • Extract, validate and control system parameters and demand data used for master planning systems
  • Analyze historical product demand patterns, trends, and other business information in the development of weekly, monthly, and annual production plans
  • Partner with sales team, manufacturing plants, logistics and procurement to effectively align supply with the demand plan
  • Responsible for planning in methods that support food product quality and safety.
  • Manage and accurately execute the allocation of inventory to ensure availability of product to all customers
  • Analyze and prepare reports of slow moving or aged inventory

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must be resourceful and apply critical thinking skills in problem solving, managing multiple tasks, and juggling priorities associated with identifying and meeting customer needs in a fast packed manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistic, Finance, Supply Chain or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years related experience in scheduling, inventory control, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced organization and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving and strong mathematical abilities.
  • High attention to detail, inspection, quality work and motivation to meet production goals are essential qualities.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make presentations to small groups.
  • Computer literacy required. Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with particular focus on Excel, experience using ERP and advance planning systems preferred.
  • Blue Yonder experience a plus.
  • Data mining skills including the ability to retrieve, manipulate, analyze, and interpret information critical to success.
  • APICS or other Supply Chain Certification a plus
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $74,100.00 to $102,600.00

Compensation is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Short-Term Incentive and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package.
