Job summary

BioLegend, Inc. seeks a Production Planner to develop and manage the production schedule for manufacturing reagents, chemicals, and consumables in a fast-paced environment.

This role uses forecast information to balance inventory, scrap, and customer service levels while efficiently utilizing lab resources. The position requires SAP/APO expertise to create near- and long-term plans, maintain stock levels domestically and internationally, and coordinate with Product Management, Sales, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years ERP production planning experience.
• Associate degree with 4+ years ERP production planning experience.
• High school diploma with 6+ years ERP production planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop near-term and long-term production plans using SAP/APO.
• Maintain forecast performance and stock levels at domestic and international sites.
• Coordinate with manufacturing on BOM/Routing changes and costs.
• Align build schedules with Forecast, New Product Introductions, and margins.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to expedite opportunities and resolve issues.
• Analyze data and structure reports to improve inventory, scrap, and margins.
• May cross-train into other planning/procurement areas and travel to sites.

Job description

Summary:

To develop and manage the production schedule for manufacturing of research reagents, chemicals, and research consumables in a fast paced environment in a way that utilizes available forecast information to balance inventory, scrap and customer service level needs, while effectively utilizing lab resources.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Utilize ERP system, (SAP and SAP/APO) to develop near term and long term production plans
• Utilize SAP/APO to maintain forecast performance
• Utilize SAP and SAP/APO to maintain proper stock levels in both local and international distribution sites
• Work with manufacturing to maintain parity between costing and BOM/Routing changes
• To develop initiatives to improve inventory, scrap and margin performance
• Must work with Product Management to align build schedule with Forecast
• Must work with Product Management to align build schedule with New Product Introductions and margin commitments
• Must work closely with the sales team to expedite and capitalize on fast moving opportunities
• Must work with both domestic and international Customer Service groups to provide timely stocking updates
• Must work with both domestic and international Customer Service groups to resolve order specific issues
• In addition to a firm understanding of fundamental planning concepts the position requires strong analytical and computer skills, including the ability to analyze data and structure reports

Additional Responsibilities:

• May be cross training into other areas of planning/procurement
• May require travel to other sites

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2+ years of experience of production planning experience using an ERP system

OR

• Associate degree
• 4+ years of experience of production planning experience using an ERP system

OR

• High school diploma or GED
• 6+ years of experience of production planning experience using an ERP system

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP experience
• High level of skill using Excel and its related data tools.
• Proficient in PowerPoint & Word
• MS Access experience
• APICS or similar certification strongly preferred
• Prior Green Belt certification a plus.

Compensation Range:

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $62,500 - $83,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
