Job summary

Briggs & Stratton, LLC is seeking a Production Planner in the United States (New York - Village of Munnsville) to organize, coordinate and schedule efficient, cost effective production of manufactured products, and to support cost analysis through variance reporting.

You will manage the Production Control database, schedule finished goods and special orders, and foster cross‑department information sharing with engineering, purchasing and sales to improve scheduling and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience.
• Experience with financial analysis, cost accounting and auditing.
• Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, and SAP MRP.

Responsibilities

• Manages Production Control database administration and monitoring of production reporting for accuracy.
• Schedules manufactured finished goods and special orders.
• Assists with design, development and maintenance of information sharing between manufacturing, engineering, purchasing and sales.
• Develops methods to improve scheduling procedures, increase productivity and reduce costs.
• Classifies labor, material and overhead costs to compute unit cost of product or service.
• Records cost data for management to control expenditures.
• Conducts cost audits and prepares reports; compiles cost data for operating budgets.
• Analyses actual costs vs. standard costs and reports variances.
• Prepares estimates of new or proposed product costs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
