Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Salt Lake City is seeking a Production Planner 3 to join the Configuration Management Team. You will interpret engineering drawings, manage BOMs, and coordinate assembly instructions with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma with related experience, proficiency in SAP/MRP/PDM, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. This role offers growth in a fast-paced environment and exposure to advanced production processes.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists.
• High School diploma or equivalent with related experience.
• Experience with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience with SAP, MRP, and/or PDM.
• US Citizenship is required and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret detailed engineering drawings and BOMs using SAP/MRP/PDM.
• Reference instructions and graphics to create/update Assembly Instructions and related docs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and test teams on processes and maintenance.
• Plan fabrication, assembly, installation, and other operations for production workers.
• Schedule operations from blueprints, orders, changes, and releases.

What You'll Get to Do:

• Interpret detailed engineering drawings, manufacturing bills of materials, and related engineering documentation using SAP/MRP/PDM systems (e.g. engineering changes, parts lists and drawings).
• Reference technical instructions and graphics to create and update Assembly Instructions (A.I.) and other related manufacturing build documents.
• Work with manufacturing staff, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and test engineering on processes and A.I. (Assembly Instruction) maintenance.
• Collaborate across multi-disciplined teams to meet tight deadlines and support manufacturing builds.
• Plan the sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations relating to a specific portion of the product for guidance of production workers.
• Plan detailed operations from blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of additional education and/or related experience.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists.
• Experience with MS Office such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with SAP, MRP, and/or PDM.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or 2+ years into undergraduate degree program.
• Experience working in Broadvision's Quicksilver or other document management software.
• Technical writing experience.
• Prior roles in production control or assembly.

Primary Level Salary Range:

$57,500.00 - $95,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
