Job summary

Constellium Van Buren is seeking a Production Scheduler to develop and maintain production schedules for automotive manufacturing. The role entails forecasting, capacity analysis, and close coordination with OEM customers and suppliers at a modern plant in metro Detroit.

You will manage ERP/MRP data, monitor KPI performance, and participate in continuous improvement, with occasional extended hours to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of materials scheduling experience in a Tier 1 automotive facility.
  • Experience working with OEM customer releases and demand schedules.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with supplier planner/ordering.
  • Detail oriented and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficient with MRP systems; PLEX experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Production Schedule for manufacturing and assembly areas; enter JOBS and measure schedule attainment.
  • Attend daily Flash Meeting and report customer and supplier concerns; facilitate daily Flow board review.
  • Develop short and long-term production plans by updating the Netting File daily/weekly.
  • Perform Item Parameter Reviews annually on all WIP assemblies and Finished Goods.
  • Monitor customer releases and forecasts to align production plans with demand.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Planner to ensure raw materials and components are available.
  • Analyze production capacity, labor, machine utilization, and material constraints for plans.
  • Adjust schedules due to demand changes, equipment downtime, or material issues.
  • Monitor production performance and schedule adherence; resolve delivery impact issues.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Ops Management to prioritize JOBS and maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production planning data in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Track KPIs: schedule attainment, inventory, capacity, on-time delivery.
  • Follow ISO 14001, 9001, 45001, IATF 16949 and regulatory requirements.
  • Backup when Customer Demand & Forecast Analyst or Supplier Planner is out.
  • All other duties assigned to perform the job.
  • Coordinate equipment outages with Engineering and Maintenance.

  • Monitor production performance and schedule adherence, identifying and resolving issues that impact delivery commitments.
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisors and Operations Management to prioritize JOBS and maximize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production planning data within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including schedule attainment, inventory levels, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery.
  • Follow ISO 14001, 9001, 45001, IATF 16949, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Detailed oriented in nature, preferred.
  • Excellent problem resolution skills, required.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, required.
  • Proficient with MRP systems, PLEX experience is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Frequent interaction with manufacturing floor personnel.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment.
  • Exposure to production equipment, moving machinery, and varying noise levels.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required to support customer requirements and production demands.
