Job summary

HireTalent in Cape Canaveral, FL is seeking a Production Control professional to support backlog reduction and data integrity. This 12-month + extension or potential FTE role targets expediting and clean-up in a high-tempo manufacturing setting.

You will own backlog disposition, monitor WIP, and maintain SAP/Costpoint ERP data while reporting daily burn-down status to leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience with schedule management, expediting, or backlog/data clean-up in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on ERP/MRP experience (SAP, Costpoint, or similar).
• Ability to work independently in a high-tempo, high-ambiguity environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive down work-order backlog by disposing idle/no-need-date orders, resolving stalled parts, and closing orders.
• Execute targeted expedite efforts on hot jobs, identifying material/kit needs and blockers.
• Provide off-nominal shift coverage as needed, keeping WIP moving.
• Maintain MRP/ERP data integrity and communicate daily backlog burn-down status.
• Flag recurring constraints to leadership rather than resolving informally.

Job Description

A leading aerospace manufacturer is scaling its Production Control team to support increased work order volume. This is a dedicated surge and clean-up role focused on backlog reduction, MRP data integrity, and expedite support — built for someone who wants to own a large, messy backlog with clear metrics and a defined end.

What You’ll Do

• Drive down work-order backlog: disposition idle/no-need-date orders, resolve kitted-but-stalled parts, close out orders
• Execute targeted expedite efforts on hot jobs, identifying material/kit needs and blockers
• Provide off-nominal shift coverage as needed, keeping WIP moving
• Maintain MRP/ERP data integrity and communicate daily backlog burn-down status
• Flag recurring constraints to leadership rather than resolving informally

What You Bring

• Experience with schedule management, expediting, or backlog/data clean-up in a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on ERP/MRP experience (SAP, Costpoint, or similar) — comfortable working directly in the data
• Ability to work independently in a high-tempo, high-ambiguity environment

Nice to Have:

• Backlog remediation/data cleanup experience, MS Project, Jira/ITS, aerospace or automotive production background.
