Job summary

CANPACK Group in the United States is seeking a Production Planner to organize the production schedule based on inventory analysis, forward warehouse coordination and related responsibilities. You will develop and maintain the production plan, raw material schedule, and intercompany purchase requirements to meet customer needs as directed by the Production Planning Manager.

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Supply Chain/Logistics.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical ability with data-driven decision making.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel).
  • Critical thinking with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy and organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule production lines to meet forecasted demand and customer orders.
  • Develop and maintain the production schedule and raw material plan.
  • Coordinate intercompany purchase requirements to ensure supply needs are met.
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy and manage stock levels for seasonal demand.
  • Communicate production plans and stoppages to management.
  • Assist planning team to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Ensure orders are received/reviewed and completed using internal procedures.
  • Support systems implementation and internal audits as required.
  • Manage capacity planning for production lines and optimize SAP usage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure production goals.

Position Summary

Organize production planning based on inventory analysis, forward warehouse coordination and related responsibilities. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the production schedule, raw material plan, and intercompany purchase requirements to ensure customer needs are met, as directed by the Production Planning Manager.

Essential Functions / Key Deliverables
  • Advise and support Production Manager to effectively manage stock levels in preparation of seasonal demand to maximize product sales.
  • Responsible for scheduling production lines to meet customer and forecasted demands.
  • Plan machine schedules yearly, quarterly, monthly, and weekly.
  • Manage stock effectively to meet seasonal demands.
  • Maintain high level of inventory accuracy.
  • Communicate the planning of production and/or stoppage of production lines to management.
  • Assist planning team to organize timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Receive customer/work orders and ensure their completion using appropriate internal procedures.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of systems, including performing internal audits training as required.
  • Receive /review orders and ensure their completion using appropriate internal procedures.
  • Manage capacity planning for production lines.
  • Effectively use SAP and computerized systems.
  • Maintain good relationships with cross-functional departments.
  • Assist with ensuring a high level of production schedule attainment.
  • Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain/Business Logistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous SAP experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to draw conclusions from data.
  • MS Office including Excel experience.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization.
