Insight Global is seeking a Production Planner for a leading manufacturing company in North Canton, Ohio. You will join a team of planners to support increased demand, manage backlogs, execute MRP, and drive material availability while supporting Oracle Fusion ERP implementation.

The role combines floor-level collaboration with transactional work (approx. 60% on the computer, 40% on the production floor) and offers growth into a long-term planning career within a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of production planning, material planning, purchasing, buyer, procurement, or inventory management experience.
• 2+ years of experience using major ERP systems such as Oracle, Oracle Fusion, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics/AX, NAV, or similar platforms.
• Experience managing material requirements, production backlogs, purchase orders, and inventory-related transactions.

Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Production Planner for a leading manufacturing company in North Canton, Ohio. This individual will join a team of three planners to provide additional support as the company experiences increased business demand and transitions to Oracle Fusion ERP. The Production Planner will be responsible for reviewing production and material backlogs, prioritizing jobs and orders, executing material requirements planning (MRP), generating and processing purchase orders, monitoring material availability and shortages, and driving timely resolution of production constraints.

This role will work closely with assemblers, planners, managers, and vendors to expedite materials, resolve inventory issues, support purchasing and procurement activities, and ensure production schedules stay on track. The Planner will also take ownership of assigned product lines, proactively address planning concerns, and support the organization through its Oracle Fusion implementation and training period. This position is approximately 60% computer-based transactional work and 40% interaction on the production floor, partnering directly with assemblers to understand production needs and material requirements. The ideal candidate is proactive, relationship-driven, comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and interested in growing into a long-term member of the planning team.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field
• 3-5 years of production planning, material planning, purchasing, buyer, procurement, or inventory management experience

Nice to Have Skills and Experience:

• Inventory control experience within a manufacturing environment
• Prior manufacturing industry experience
• Vendor and supplier communication experience, including expediting materials and resolving shortages
• Experience supporting an ERP implementation or system conversion
• Experience managing assigned product lines and production schedules
• Knowledge of MRP concepts and production planning best practices
