Biomerics offers Swiss machining with integrated laser cutting on precision medical tubing. Laser/Swiss machining enables features to be machined and laser cut in the same process. Our core competency lies in smaller medical components, produced with high accuracy and repeatability. Traditional Swiss screw machining capability is also available for rapid prototyping and production.

In addition, Biomerics utilizes 5 axis milling machines capable of producing complex finished components, while holding extremely tight tolerances.

Job Description: This position will be responsible for Planning and Scheduling throughout the Supply Chain at the BNLE facility. Additionally, the Planner/Scheduler will effectively develop and coach direct reports to support daily initiatives, align department objectives with the business strategy, engage the workforce with increased expectations and hold workforce accountable for results.

Takes responsibility for the effective planning of production and material flow throughout the shop, has supervisory responsibility for planner direct reports who assist in planning and can have supervisory responsibility for a designated area of the shop as appropriate. This requires interfacing with purchasing, receiving, incoming inspection, customers, and production as necessary to ensure the processing of orders to meet the due dates of customer orders. Effectively utilizes E2 for order tracking, inventory management and to maintain material lot integrity/traceability.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide tactical and strategic oversight to the warehouse and inventory control.
  2. Initiates LEAN Manufacturing practices by analyzing trend information and recommending areas of focus.
  3. Review and monitor production variances.
  4. Hold weekly planning/scheduling meetings with production support to assure productivity and delivery metrics are achieved.
  5. Support the development and achievement of KPI's that deliver results for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery. KPI's will encompass OTD, past dues, yield, cost of scrap, labor efficiency, safety, achieving 3rd Day sales target, etc.
  6. Become BAC ERP (Epicor) superuser and "go to" for resolving low level system issues. Maintain ERP system with production schedule and forecast.
  7. Set standards and monitor staff performance, provide performance feedback, write and conduct appraisals, recommend merit increases and promotions, hold direct reports accountable to policies and performance throughout the year.
  8. Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize performance and their personal and professional growth.
  9. Manage assigned projects, working cross functionally to identify changes and required resources to obtain objectives.
  10. Plans, updates, and monitors manufacturing schedules, establishing delivery dates and coordinating activity throughout the operation to support the master schedule including tooling and material requirements.
  11. Assist with monitoring of materials inventory to effectively determine needs based on production schedules, execute cycle counts and assist Finance/Accounting.
  12. Maintaining a constant awareness of capacity constraints, material arrival, customer demand changes and quality issues; adjust and communicate schedule changes accordingly.
  13. Owns on time delivery and creates the most effective schedule possible.
  14. Create and release travelers to the production floor as required.

Requirements:

  1. Two to three years of Planning and Scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
  2. 2-3 years' experience with ERP systems (Epicor ERP preferred).
  3. Experience managing direct reports is preferred.
  4. Solid understanding of Planning and Scheduling methodologies (forecasts, safety stocks, replenishment strategies, inventory optimization, lead time reduction, Kanban, etc.).
  5. General understanding of Lean Management required.
  6. Proficiency with data analytics, databases, MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint.
  7. Knowledge and experience of working with an ISO13485 Quality Management System.
  8. Demonstrated success in managing workforce, conflict management and working in a team environment.
