Job summary

Crane Authentication, a partner to businesses and governments, seeks a Production Planner to analyze demand, material requirements and plant capacity, establishing an efficient manufacturing schedule. The role expedites operations and adjusts plans to meet unforeseen conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and makes available production plan to relevant parties.
  • Attends daily GEMBA and Flash meetings.
  • Leads weekly planning meeting and ensures outcome of meeting is reflected in the plan.
  • Updates plan based on skills & availability of associates to ensure plan remains achievable.
  • Ensures systems are always kept up to date to verify stock availability to relevant parties.
  • Ensures all stock alerts are actioned in a timely manner and the stock reports is accurate and up to date.
  • Reviews stock levels to ensure WIP or finished goods stock available before entering job onto plan.
  • Ensures the production plan is set only once availability of all raw material has been checked.
  • Regularly liaises closely with the Production leads, managers and associates as well as Customer Care, R&D and Engineering.
  • Controls waste effectively – over production, early production, idle time, inventory.
  • Understands process of demand planning and the inputs to the production plan including statistical forecasting and trend analysis
  • Maintains monthly forecast data in ERP systems, evaluating trends and providing inputs to SIOP process.

Position Summary & Objective

The Production Planner analyzes demand, material requirements and plant capacity to determine ideal manufacturing schedule using previously established manufacturing sequences, set up times and running speeds. This role expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

Essential Functions Performed by the Position
  • Manages and makes available production plan to relevant parties.
  • Attends daily GEMBA and Flash meetings.
  • Leads weekly planning meeting and ensures outcome of meeting is reflected in the plan.
  • Updates plan based on skills & availability of associates to ensure plan remains achievable
  • Ensures systems are always kept up to date to verify stock availability to relevant parties.

Position Qualifications Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in production planning essential.
  • Fluent in English.
