Job summary

Teledyne Micropac is seeking an experienced Production Planner to coordinate schedules, material availability, and manufacturing priorities to meet delivery commitments. You will develop and maintain production plans, balance capacity and demand, monitor workflow, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Program Management teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred).
• Strong understanding of planning, inventory control, and capacity planning.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand, inventory, materials, and capacity.
• Create and manage master production plans to support objectives and commitments.
• Analyze requirements, identify capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and conflicts.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure timely materials availability.
• Monitor WIP and throughput to support schedule adherence.
• Prioritize activities with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Operations leadership.
• Review orders, forecasts and backlog to align schedules with needs.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data accuracy and update systems regularly.
• Track KPIs: OTD, Schedule Attainment, Inventory Levels, WIP, cycle time, utilization.
• Support Sales, PM, and Customer Service with delivery commitments and changes.
• Lead planning meetings and communicate risks and mitigation plans.
• Develop recovery plans for shortages and delays.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning, inventory, and efficiency.
• Support audits and compliance with aerospace/defense quality systems.

Job Description

Teledyne Micropac is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Planner to coordinate production schedules, material availability, and manufacturing priorities in support of customer delivery commitments. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining production plans, balancing capacity and demand, monitoring workflow, and collaborating with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Program Management teams to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery performance.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment and possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

What you’ll do

The essential functions and key responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, inventory levels, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
• Create and manage master production plans to support business objectives and customer commitments.
• Analyze production requirements and identify capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and scheduling conflicts.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
• Monitor work-in-process (WIP) and manufacturing throughput to support schedule adherence.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations leadership to prioritize production activities.
• Review customer orders, forecasts, and backlog to align production schedules with business requirements.
• Maintain and update ERP/MRP systems to ensure accurate planning data.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
• On-Time Delivery (OTD)
• Schedule Attainment
• Inventory Levels
• Work-in-Process (WIP)
• Manufacturing Cycle Time
• Capacity Utilization
• Support Sales, Program Management, and Customer Service with delivery commitments and schedule changes.
• Lead planning meetings and communicate schedule risks and mitigation plans.
• Develop recovery plans for material shortages, manufacturing delays, and unexpected demand changes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
• Support audits and compliance requirements associated with aerospace, defense, and quality management systems.

What you need

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of production planning, scheduling, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing planning processes, inventory control, and capacity planning.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of demand planning, production planning, and inventory management.
• Ability to interpret forecasts, production capacity, and customer demand requirements.
• Advanced analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Advantage

• APICS/ASCM Certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent).
