Job summary

Shawsheen Coating and Converting in Andover, MA is seeking an experienced Production Planner to develop and manage production schedules, coordinate materials, and help optimize ERP-driven processes. You will work across departments to ensure orders ship on time and contribute to ERP improvements.

The role emphasizes scheduling accuracy, BOM control, and collaboration with Purchasing, Sales, and Operations to drive efficiency and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production planning or master scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in coating, converting, textiles, paper products, or continuous processes preferred.
• Hands-on ERP implementation or significant system improvement experience.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Infor or similar software.
• Strong understanding of MRP, BOMs, inventory management and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules to meet demand and optimize inventory.
• Coordinate daily production priorities with plant leadership, supervisors, and purchasing.
• Monitor capacity, labor availability, and material requirements to create realistic schedules.
• Track progress, address delays, and adjust schedules for shortages or downtime.
• Lead ERP implementation efforts for production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
• Organize and maintain BOMs, routing information, lead times, and equipment capacities.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Quality, and Warehouse teams to communicate updates.
• Improve planning procedures, inventory controls, and ERP-related processes.
• Monitor on-time delivery and inventory levels to identify improvement opportunities.

Shawsheen Coating and Converting is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team in Andover, MA.

If you enjoy coordinating production schedules, solving problems, and working across teams to keep manufacturing operations running efficiently, this is an opportunity to play a key role in Shawsheen's daily operations and continued growth.

As our Production Planner, you will develop and manage production schedules, coordinate materials and resources, and help ensure customer orders are completed on time. You will also play an important role in implementing and improving our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, helping streamline scheduling, inventory management, and production processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules to meet customer demand, optimize inventory, and keep manufacturing operations on track.
• Coordinate daily production priorities with plant leadership, supervisors, and purchasing teams.
• Monitor machine capacity, labor availability, and material requirements to create realistic production schedules.
• Track production progress, identify potential delays, and adjust schedules to address material shortages, equipment downtime, or changing customer needs.
• Play a key role in implementing and improving the company's ERP system for production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
• Help organize and maintain accurate production data, including bills of materials (BOMs), routing information, lead times, and equipment capacities.
• Work closely with Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Quality, and Warehouse teams to coordinate materials, communicate order updates, and resolve production issues.
• Develop and improve planning procedures, inventory controls, and ERP-related processes.
• Monitor production performance, on-time delivery, and inventory levels to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency, reduce delays, and improve overall manufacturing operations.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Starting wage of $27-$35 per hour depending on experience.
• Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule.
• On-site position in Andover, MA.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or master scheduling within a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in coating, converting, textiles, paper products, or continuous-process manufacturing is preferred.
• Hands-on experience participating in or leading an ERP implementation, migration, or significant system improvement.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Infor, or similar manufacturing software.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling, material requirements planning (MRP), inventory management, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, reporting, and data analysis.
• Ability to analyze production capacity, identify scheduling conflicts, and solve operational problems.
• Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively with production teams, management, and other departments.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• APICS/CPIM certification is a plus.
