Winchester Ammunition is hiring a Production Packer at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO. You will sort, inspect, and package ammunition while ensuring quality and safety across the production line.

The role supports multiple shifts (days, nights, weekends) with overtime as needed. Starting pay is $20.60/hr with increases after 120 days, plus shift differentials for weekend nights and weeknights. Excellent benefits begin day one.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to pass physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Manufacturing/industrial environment experience preferred.
• Stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 lbs; push up to 100 lbs.
• Willing to work any shift, including overtime up to 20 hours/week per union contract.

Responsibilities

• Sort, clean, inspect, and separate ammunition and components for packaging and shipment.
• Operate bandoleer filling, stamping, and other packaging equipment while monitoring quality.
• Visually inspect ammunition and components and feed materials into automated equipment to meet specs.
• Move raw materials, components, and finished ammunition using carts and dollies.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and assist with basic equipment care.

Salary

• Starting Pay: $20.60 per hour with an increase to $21.79 per hour after 120 days.
• Shift Differentials: Weekend night shifts ($2.00 per hour), weeknight shifts ($0.70)

Production Packer – Ammunition Manufacturing Essential Responsibilities

• Sort, clean, inspect, and separate ammunition and components in preparation for packaging and shipment.
• Operate bandoleer filling, stamping, and other packaging equipment while monitoring product quality throughout the process.
• Visually inspect ammunition and components, feeding materials into automated equipment to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Move raw materials, components, and finished ammunition using electric lift carts, two-wheel dollies, and other approved material handling equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by performing routine housekeeping, following safety procedures, and assisting with basic equipment care.

Production Packer – Ammunition Manufacturing Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age to meet qualifications.
• Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check if job offer is received and accepted.
• Prior full-time work experience preferred; manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift/carry up to 50 pounds, and push up to 100 pounds.
• Ability and willingness to work any shift, including overtime, up to 20 hours per week, per union contract.

Location-Specific Requirements

• This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
• This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
• This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the government-facility requirements, the candidate must be a US citizen.
