Job summary

Nestlé S.A. in Davenport, IA is hiring a Production Operator to support multiple production roles across our factory, including Operator Process, Operator Relief, and Operator Line. You will troubleshoot equipment and help drive lean practices in a large pet food manufacturing facility serving top brands.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of manufacturing experience. Expect shift work (2nd/3rd) and overtime, with a competitive hourly starting pay and benefits

• Conduct general sanitation activities including being trained in emptying hoppers and baler.
• Run reports and manage data using computer-based technology.

Position Summary

Located in North America’s wind belt, Davenport is at the forefront of renewable energy technology and has remained home to our largest manufacturing facility since 1927. Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late ‘90’s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Kitten Chow®, Friskies® and Kit N Kaboodle® brands.

As a production operator, you’ll develop your skill set while training in multiple production roles across the factory. This position requires the ability to work 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts, as well as extensive overtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a production or machine operator
• Starting pay of $25.78/hour for the introductory period, with an increase to $29.56/hour after 6 months
• After one year of service, you will receive the bid rate for the job you are performing, which can start at $38.03/hour and has the potential to be higher
• Shift differential and overtime/double time pay as applicable

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $25.78 per hour for Production Operator. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
