Job summary

Nestlé Purina North America is seeking candidates for a production operator role at our Davenport, IA facility. The position offers training across multiple production lines and locations within the plant to support various areas as needed.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintaining lean manufacturing practices, sanitation tasks, and data reporting using computer-based systems. The role requires availability for 2nd/3rd shifts and weekend work with substantial overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a production or machine operator.

• Troubleshoot equipment, process, or product problems.
• Maintain knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts, 5S practices, and continuous improvement operations.
• Conduct general sanitation activities including being trained in emptying hoppers and baler.
• Run reports and manage data using computer-based technology.
• Work 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts with extensive overtime.

Position Summary

Located in North America’s wind belt, Davenport is at the forefront of renewable energy technology and has remained home to our largest manufacturing facility since 1927. Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food‑only manufacturer in the late 199’s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Kitten Chow®, Friskies® and Kit N Kaboodle® brands.

Benefits

• Starting pay of $25.78/hour for the introductory period, with an increase to $29.56/hour after 6 months.
• After one year of service, you will receive the bid rate for the job you are performing, which can start at $38.03/hour and has the potential to be higher.
