Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation is seeking a Production Operator to join our distribution center team. The role focuses on safe, efficient handling of building and industrial products, including forklift operation and daily paperwork for distribution and shipping.

Candidates should have five years of forklift/warehouse experience, the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and the capacity to work in a team-oriented environment with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule. Competitive benefits are included from day one.

What You’ll Do

• Reading and writing English
• General Math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs
• Able to climb, reach, bend, and pull
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk)
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What We’re Looking For

• Five years of recent forklift/warehouse experience
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history

The starting rate is $19.22 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations. BlueLinx also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health care, dental, vision, life and disability insurance starting the first day of the month, 15 days of paid time off that start accruing your first day, and 8 paid holidays per year.
