Job description

Our clienthas multiple openings for aProduction Operator/Slitterfor a2nd Shift direct hire positionin Avenel, NJ.

Hours: 2nd Shift -3pm to 11pm

Pay: $20.51/HR

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and processing of material in and out of the slitting operation area.
• Ensure products maintain the highest level of quality satisfaction our customers expect
• Will load and thread the material through the machine.
• Input data into the shop floor computer
• Threads sheeting through slitter and verifies dimension of cut specifications.
• Observes slitting and rewinding operation and examines cut strips for flatness, burrs on edges and surface defects.
• Will observe the machine and is required to communicate mechanical or quality issues timely.
• Will ensure the work area is consistently kept in compliance with all housekeeping and safety
• standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 2 years’ experience in manufacturing facility preferably in roll forming capacity
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required to perform the essential functions of this position
• The employee must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50lbs.
• Be dependable and on-time with attendance
• Be flexible and willing to learn, including cross-training and developing in other areas in the plant
• MUST have own STEEL TOED SHOES!
• Own reliable transportation
• Will become a member of The Teamsters Union and be eligible for the benefits provided by the teamsters.
