Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC in Big Island, VA is seeking Production Operators (Service Crew) to safely operate manufacturing equipment and help the mill meet production and quality goals. This 12-hour shift role requires adaptability to day and night rotations, with overtime as needed.

Starting pay is $24.57/hour with a $1.08 night differential, plus paid time off, healthcare, 401(k), and quarterly bonuses. Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and ideally 1+ year of related experience;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in farming, carpentry, construction, warehouse, military, production, manufacturing or physical labor.
• Experience using a computer for email, internet, and other applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform operator care duties and minor maintenance.
• Work throughout the mill to meet production and quality goals.
• Learn multiple operator functions in power, recovery, shipping/receiving, and paper machine areas.
• Maintain housekeeping to keep machinery functioning and plant appearance.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and walking for long periods.
• Operate mobile equipment.
• Support safety initiatives and programs.
• Work shifts including holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Operate in hot, humid, cold, and noisy environments.
