Job summary

DFA is hiring for a production operator to join our manufacturing team in a fast-paced setting. You will perform line duties, operate and monitor equipment, and ensure proper materials are used while maintaining quality checks and documentation.

You will follow GMP and safety protocols, work with cross-functional teams, and prepare equipment for the next run. Excellent written and verbal communication in English is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing/production experience preferred.
• Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform line duties within the manufacturing environment (receiving, palletizing, blending, filling, CIP, packaging, loading) and troubleshoot minor repairs.
• Clean, set up, operate, and monitor production line equipment.
• Ensure correct materials are used for each product and complete quality checks.
• Document all required information and review charts, sheets, and specifications in hard copy and electronic formats.
• Follow GMP and SOPs; maintain health and safety compliance.
• Operate forklift safely to move inventory and load trucks.
• Prepare equipment for next run and perform routine machine adjustments.
• Communicate with supervisors and other departments regarding issues affecting production.

Job description

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform a variety of line duties within the manufacturing environment to include processing, machine operator, and/or break relief operator jobs (e.g., Receiver, Palletizer, Blend/Filler/CIP/Mix/Packaging/Loader operators). This may include troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance repairs
• Clean, set-up, operate, and monitor equipment on the production line
• Ensure that the proper materials are used for each product being produced
• Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks
• Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications that are in both hard copy and electronic format
• Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as required to maintain plant equipment; complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run
• Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties
• Maintain communication with other departments, supervisor, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s
• Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Must be able to read, write and speak English

• Safely operate a forklift, including a standing forklift, to load trucks and move inventory from one location to another.
• Perform routine machine adjustments.
• Accurately maintain inventory records and paperwork.
• Assist with monthly inventory counts, year-end inventory counts, and cycle counts as required.
• Accurately maintain shipping paperwork.
• Assist with powder sampling in accordance with U.S.D.A. guidelines

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 3 years of manufacturing/production experience, preferably in the dairy or consumer goods industry
• Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment
