Job summary

DFA in Monroe, WI, is seeking a production operator for the second shift to demonstrate proficiency across multiple line stations in a dairy processing environment.

You will clean, set up, operate, monitor equipment, and record quality checks, coordinating with teams to maintain safety and efficiency while adhering to GMP and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years manufacturing/production experience, preferably in dairy/consumer goods.
• Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of line duties in processing, machine operation, and/or break relief roles; troubleshoot minor repairs.
• Clean, set up, operate, and monitor production line equipment.
• Ensure proper materials are used for each product produced.
• Complete documentation and quality checks as required.
• Review charts, screens, and quality sheets in hard copy and electronic formats.
• Maintain sanitation and cleaning tasks; complete cleaning checklist after run.
• Prepare equipment for next run; adjust for size changes as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
• Communicate with other departments and supervisors about issues affecting efficiency.
• Ensure paperwork is clear, legible, and properly documented per SOPs.
• Review process and equipment data to improve quality and throughput.
• Follow GMPs and health and safety regulations.

* All candidates MUST have prior experience operating production equipment in a food processing facility - dairy preferred

* This is a SECOND shift position

* GENERAL PURPOSE

Demonstrate proficiency in more than one process and equipment to perform various operator roles in the plant production environment.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform a variety of line duties within the manufacturing environment to include processing, machine operator, and/or break relief operator jobs (e.g., Receiver, Palletizer, Blend/Filler/CIP/Mix/Packaging/Loader operators). This may include troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance repairs
• Clean, set-up, operate, and monitor equipment on the production line
• Ensure that the proper materials are used for each product being produced
• Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks
• Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications that are in both hard copy and electronic format
• Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as required to maintain plant equipment; complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run
• Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties
• Maintain communication with other departments, supervisor, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s
• Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 3 years of manufacturing/production experience, preferably in the dairy or consumer goods industry
• Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment
