Job summary

Edgewell Personal Care is seeking a manufacturing operator in Knoxville, TN to set up, adjust and operate pre-grind blade making machinery and peripheral equipment. The role focuses on producing products of acceptable quality and requires hands-on mechanical skills.

This full-time, project-based position offers a unique schedule—15 days per month with every other weekend off during the plant relocation through December 2027.

Qualifications

• Six months of manufacturing experience required
• Mechanically inclined with good reading of instruments & gauges
• Able to perform basic math and use hand tools
• Hands-on experience with general mechanics and gauges
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written)
• Demonstrates quality awareness, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate machinery to obtain product of acceptable quality
• Perform preventive maintenance as required
• Perform and record quality checks
• Relieve operators when needed

Please note that this full-time position is project based, and employment is expected to end no later than December 2027, in connection with the plant’s scheduled relocation.

Purpose of Position

Set up, adjust and operate all pre-grind blade making machinery and peripheral equipment to obtain product of acceptable quality.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Procedures

• Set up, adjust and operate machinery and equipment to obtain product of acceptable quality.
• As required, perform preventive maintenance
• Perform and record Quality checks.
• As required, relieve operators.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills and Experience

• Must have at least six (6) months of manufacturing experience
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must be able to correctly read and interpret instruments and gages.
• Must be able to calculate basic math.
• Hands-on experience in general mechanics.
• Past experience with various hand tools and gages.
• Good Interpersonal Skills
• Strong Communication Skills, both Verbal and Written.
• Demonstrates quality awareness and attention to details.
• Demonstrates problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in Stamping, Perforating or Heat-Treating a plus.
