Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Altavista, VA, is seeking a Sr Production Equipment Operator to safely operate and maintain high-speed production equipment for leading nutrition products. You will ensure proper identification of products, keep accurate records, and support quality controls in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role involves night shifts (6pm–6:30am on a rotating schedule) with responsibilities spanning equipment maintenance, material management, and on-line/off-line quality

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in basic math and good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate, clean and maintain production equipment, both complex and standard high-speed lines.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ensure adequate supply of materials for equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Verify correct product codes and expiration dates.

What You’ll Work On

• Safely operate, clean and help maintain the production related equipment both complex and standard high-speed production equipment that makes our industry-leading nutrition products
• Maintain accurate and legible records and documentation
• Maintain an adequate supply of materials for the equipment in operation
• Troubleshoot equipment issues
• Ensure that both products and materials are of proper identification, correct codes and expiration dates.
• Perform periodic on-line visual quality inspections and offline quality tests

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Shift

This is for the night shift. Example of shift:

Shift Hours:

6pm to 6:30 am, on a rotating basis.

Week One:

Mon - On / Tues - On / Weds - Off / Thurs - Off / Fri - On / Sat - On / Sun - On

Week Two:

Mon - Off / Tues - Off / Weds - On / Thurs - On / Fri - Off / Sat - Off / Sun - Off

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• Some mechanical aptitude

The base pay for this position is $17.15 – $34.25 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
