Job summary

Scott Steel in Dayton, OH is seeking a Production Associate to support daily production processes in a steel slitting facility. You will operate entry-level equipment, handle material, and ensure orders are processed accurately while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Basic math and reading skills.
• Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills and safety practices.
• High level of initiative and personal accountability.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment.
• Attention to detail and consistent work patterns.
• Experience in a warehouse, production or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic computer data-entry skills.
• Forklift operation knowledge.
• Forklift certification a plus.
• Overhead cranes experience a plus.
• Experience with precision instruments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend and maintain regular attendance.
• Follow all plant safety rules, policies and procedures.
• Follow set-up and operational procedures to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Run entry-level equipment and ensure processes meet SOPs.
• Process, package and ship orders accurately.
• Inspect products for defects and damages.
• Examine outgoing shipments.
• Receive, unload and place incoming inventory items.
• Check, verify and fill customer invoices.
• Perform clean-up activities in production areas as assigned.
• Contribute ideas to improve or optimize plant procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
