Production Operator Lead

This position is responsible for collaborating with the Production Supervisor to assist with daily operations of the production floor; ensuring the shift meets established safety, quality, and production goals in compliance with all applicable legal and food safety requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Assist Production Supervisor with daily activities of the shift, ensuring product safety, quality, and throughput standards are met.
  • Communicate with the previous shift regarding challenges and opportunities on the production lines.
  • Conduct walkthroughs to verify safety, housekeeping, and quality compliance.
  • Assist with batching minerals (if applicable) and preparing lines for changeovers.
  • Order and inspect raw materials, perform quality checks, and manage raw materials post-production.
  • Verify jobs in Oracle and other systems for accuracy.
  • Support with production reports and communicate downtime issues.
  • Adhere to safety and food safety standards at all times.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 4 years' experience in manufacturing and in a similar role.
  • Experience managing people/projects.

Preferred:

  • 6 years' experience in manufacturing and in a similar role.

*Experience may include a combination of work and education.

Focus on safety, continuous improvement, problem-solving, and effective communication, aligned with Niagara's LIFE competency model.

Education
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree.
Certification/License
