PRODUCTION OPERATOR - LAYUP - NIGHT SHIFT

CAMDEN PLYWOOD

Starting rate is $20 per hour + $1.50 Night Shift Premium

Schedule: 36 hrs./48 hrs. - 2-week rotation.

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring for Production Operators in the LAYUP Dept. of our Plywood mill, in CAMDEN, TX. This is a Night Shift position with opportunity for advancement.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

*Experience in at least ONE of the following areas: manufacturing, agricultural, warehouse, construction, automotive OR military environment

What Will Put You Ahead

*At least six (6) months of experience in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment

*Experience operating machines

What You Will Do

Veneer Core Assembly:

Assemble veneer cores by layering sheets according to specified patterns and project requirements.

Ensure precise alignment and orientation of each layer to meet quality standards.

Feeding Operations:

Efficiently feed veneer cores into production machinery to ensure continuous operation.

Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or irregularities, making necessary adjustments.

Quality Control:

Inspect veneer sheets and cores for defects, such as knots or splits, and remove or report defective materials.

Ensure finished products meet the company's quality and specification standards.

Safety and Maintenance:

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any issues to the maintenance team.

Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to optimize production efficiency.

Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

Other Considerations

*Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy and high-volume environment

*Pull and lift veneer, panels, or scraps that could be up to 25 lbs.

*Work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment

*Walk on elevated catwalks over 15 feet high to perform daily duties
