Job summary

Description

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

  1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  2. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  3. Operator will start up, shut down, Clean in Place (CIP) and troubleshoot equipment when appropriate. They will also ensure equipment starts and stops on time.
  4. Operation and monitoring of all related equipment.
  5. Maintain all related records and documentation per policy and in accordance with state Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship.
  6. Document and communicate production deficiencies to leads and management.
  7. Monitoring and taking samples of the UF, RO & Polisher, which will include documentation of the numbers.
  8. Report and communicate critical information during shift change overs.
  9. Responsible for testing equipment using results to adjust equipment to improve quality of product.
  10. Responsible for understanding and following operating and cleaning procedures for the assigned equipment including cleaning lab and testing equipment after every use.
  11. Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment and supplies in your work areas throughout the plant.
  12. Perform and document preventative maintenance and master sanitation tasks.
  13. Continuously look for process improvement opportunities and effectively communicate to others.
  14. When properly licensed and trained, operate forklift to move inventory.
  15. Assist with training new employees.
  16. Provide assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting.
  17. Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  18. Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  19. Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  20. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPIERENCE:
